Here’s a sneak peek at what it’s like to work in Sioux Falls:
1. Thriving Downtown.
Sioux Falls has a thriving downtown with many shops, retailers like the Duluth Trading Company, and plenty of restaurants to curb your appetite! At one point in Sioux Falls’ history, downtown was not a place you wanted to be hanging out after dark. In the last 15 years, Downtown Sioux Falls has become ‘the place to be’ for entertainment, food, and local shopping.
Also, Downtown Sioux Falls is just minutes away from the park that gives the city it’s namesake - Falls Park.
2. Yes, there are actually falls in Sioux Falls.
Falls Park is home to the great falls of the Big Sioux River. The park is located just north of Downtown Sioux Falls and is home to some of the first buildings built in Sioux Falls.
Here, you can admire the beauty of the Falls and the city’s Sioux Quartzite (which many of the first buildings in Sioux Falls are made out of this stone), take a view of the city from the park’s lookout tower, or stop for lunch at the Falls Overlook Cafe. This park tells the history of the city and is worth checking out!

The state of South Dakota is well known across the country for its pheasant hunting season in the Fall. Plus, we’re the only state where it’s allowable to shoot our state bird!
If you like to fish or be on the boat, Wall Lake and Lake Vermillion are not too far by!

Also, Sioux Falls is home to two NCAA Division II Universities: Augustana University and the University of Sioux Falls. Both schools have plenty of events throughout the school year and each have their own athletic facilities.
The Sioux Falls Sports Authority works each year to bring national competitions to the local scene with the Summit League tournaments.

If you enjoy live music and concerts, this is the place for you. The Denny Sanford Premier Event Center, The District, and Badlands Pawn have all opened in the last few years and bring in names like Paul McCartney, Luke Bryan, Elton John, Florida Georgia Line, Toby Keith, and more!
