Here, you can admire the beauty of the Falls and the city’s Sioux Quartzite (which many of the first buildings in Sioux Falls are made out of this stone), take a view of the city from the park’s lookout tower, or stop for lunch at the Falls Overlook Cafe. This park tells the history of the city and is worth checking out!

Sioux Falls has many things to do in the outdoors. If you love spending time outside, you won’t regret living in this city. You can have access to all of the city parks, golf courses, and bike trails.

If you are a hunting enthusiast, you’re in luck! You can drive just minutes outside of Sioux Falls and access some great hunting land. The Skyforce (Basketball), Storm, (Indoor Football), Canaries (Baseball), and Stampede (Hockey), all call Sioux Falls home each year. The city has a sports and entertainment district in the Northwest, so accessing these events is easy to do.

Also, Sioux Falls is home to two NCAA Division II Universities: Augustana University and the University of Sioux Falls. Both schools have plenty of events throughout the school year and each have their own athletic facilities.


The Sioux Falls Sports Authority works each year to bring national competitions to the local scene with the Summit League tournaments.
