The Excellent Road Adventures of K & J's Brad and Bonnie Hendriks May 3 2018

Post by: Carrie Anderson

Can marriage while out on the road together actually work? Brad and Bonnie Hendriks know it can. They've been trucking together for five years and they still love it. Whether working 24 hours a day 7 days a week with your spouse sounds like a dream or a nightmare, you have to admit it is certainly unique. The Hendriks, owner operators with K & J, shared their feelings about team road life for anyone considering hitting the road with their significant other.

The Double-Edged Sword of Going OTR - Four-Wheeler Goes OTR November 7 2017

Post by: Carrie Anderson

It is time for some real talk. Of all the lessons I learned during my OTR experience with Summer (read more about why here), this was probably one of the most powerful. So if you don't like mushy, gushy stuff, if you don't like being getting real, you can skip this blog. It's okay. I understand. But if you can handle it, buckle up.

Why Truckers Are "Jerks" - Four-Wheeler Goes OTR October 21 2017

Post by: Carrie Anderson

I'm just your average car driver, or in trucker lingo, a four-wheeler. But I recently went OTR to learn more about what it is truly like on the road. Before my trip with Summer I felt like when I was in my car I owned the road; I quickly learned that I had just been borrowing it from a big rig.

When you are driving 80,000 lbs down a highway at 68 mph, you are definitely the king of the road. Most four-wheelers assume that when we are inconvenienced it is just because truckers are jerks. But I learned, they are usually "jerks" for good reason.

An Average 4-Wheeler Goes OTR October 13 2017

Post by: Carrie Anderson

My name is Carrie and I... I'm an average 4-wheeler.

Go ahead, say it. I know you want to.

HI, CARRIE!

I am the lady behind many of these blog posts you read (or don't read, I see you...) on the K & J website. I love working with the team at K & J to help craft original content for this website that hits at the heart of the trucking industry and what it means to be part of the K & J family.

I have learned a LOT about trucking in the past year and I work hard to understand the industry; but I'm still not a truck driver.

I hated the disconnect I had from life on the road and I wanted to understand the real issues that drivers face every day. So, I went OTR.
