K&J Trucking's New Years Resolutions for 2018

Did you make resolutions this year? We did! Sure, it is a few weeks into the new year, but we wanted to let you in on our company-wide resolutions for 2018!

Go Paperless!

Our offices are well on their way to being paperless. It has been a lot of work, but we figured since we are asking our drivers to be primarily paperless, we should be too. Ask us how we feel about it... no wait... don't. 

Grow, Grow, Grow

Every business wants to grow, of course, but we hope to grow by at least 20%! We are looking to hire around 20-25 drivers this year. But don't worry, our commitment to hiring the best drivers in the industry and treating each driver like family remains the same! If you are looking for a change, now is a great time to talk with us! 

Remain at 99% on time (or better)

Yes, even with ELDs. Our reliability is something on which our customers depend, and we don't want to change that. Our goal is always excellence and professionalism within the confines of the law. 

Improve the Driver Experience

It is hard being out on the road. One of the best parts of being a driver is the freedom of the road, but when you get stuck at a loading dock, you probably feel pretty far removed from those freedoms. One of our goals for 2018 is to support our drivers by working with our customers to increase driver productivity and decrease turn times. We want you on the road faster so you can get home to your family faster. 

Help Our Drivers Find Balance 

We've found that when we treat our drivers well, they treat our customers well and everyone wins. We want to continue that tradition by exploring new ways to connect with drivers. You have great ideas and deserve to be heard. Here are a few specific areas where we want to implement new ideas. 

• Communication with drivers
• Help with work/life balance ( we know that your life isn’t in a truck all the time)
• Support to meet your health goals
• Support to meet your business goals (specifically for owner operators or those who want to become owner-operators)

Stay Active on Industry Issues

This year we will to continue to make trucker voices heard both by staying active with state and federal issues in transportation, and by passing out that infomration here on the blog. So stay tuned and get active so we can see real positive change in the transportation industry this year!
