We've Never Forced a Driver to Work Christmas

Written by K&J Trucking | January 15 2019

We love our drivers and we know that drivers are what make or break trucking companies. For that reason, since we opened our doors in 1979 we have been committed to treating drivers well and not forcing them out on Christmas if they want to be home with family.

But How Can You Do That?

How do we keep up with business if we don’t force our drivers to work Christmas?

We take volunteers.

One of our drivers put if best, “I don’t mind working Christmas now because when my kids were young I was always home to see them on Christmas morning. I know that working Christmas means one of our younger drivers can be with their kids."

For our part, we promise all our Christmas drivers that they won’t have to feel the first quarter shipping slow down that all trucking companies sometimes experience. We make sure our Christmas drivers have first shot at available loads in the first quarter as a way of saying thank you for their sacrifice.

Join Our Family

If you were on the road over Christmas this year and missed out on family time, or if you are looking for a SD trucking company that will treat you like a person instead of a number, we want to talk to you. Our drivers are happy and we have very low driver turnover (less than 15% last year), but as we grow we want to add more regional, intermediate, and long-haul drivers to the K & J Trucking family. We have trucking jobs for both owner operators and company drivers. We even lease trucks!
