Walk with K&J for the American Heart Association!

Have you been trying to jumpstart a healthier lifestyle, but can't find the best way to do it? Maybe you're perfectly happy with your lifestyle, but still want to help out a great cause. Either way, K&J has the perfect solution. 

Big Trucks, Big Hearts 

We are partnering with the American Heart Association for the 2017 AHA Heart Walk. To us, our drivers are the backbone, heart and soul of our company, and we want them to live long, happy, and healthy lives! 

To support our drivers and healthy lifestyle choices, K&J has donated $5,000 to the American Heart Association. Drivers can donate if they'd like to, but we just want everyone to get out of their trucks and walk! 

To participate, drivers can walk at their own pace! Just 3.1 miles total. Not planning to be in Sioux Falls on August 19th? No problem!

Walk Anywhere, Anytime

Anyone interested in participating has the option of being a "ghost" walker, meaning you can do this on your own time, and do not have to come to the event on August 19 (although you're certainly welcome to if you'd like!) You can walk .5 mile a day, more, less, whatever works for you! Just record how far you walk and when you successfully complete 3.1 miles, let us know, and we'll give you a free t-shirt!

Good Excuse for a Fresh Start

If you're looking to kick your butt into gear and start a healthier lifestyle, participating in this walk is a great way to get into the habit of exercising and making better food choices. Walking is something we all do every day - just go out of your way to do a little more of it! And if you want to help out a great cause, the American Heart Association is a worthy organization to support. With more than 22 million supporters and volunteers, the AHA is dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke.   

At K&J we love encouraging our drivers to stay active and choose healthy food options. People may think that you can't be healthy while on the road - but that's absolutely false! Getting active can be as simple as walking, which is great for your heart; and it can decrease your risk for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes.

Choose Your Why

To help motivate you or a family member into walking, think of why you want to walk! Are you going to walk for the sake of your health? Maybe you want to walk to to honor a family member you've lost to a heart related illness? Perhaps you just want the free t-shirt! Whatever the reason behind your steps, we just want you to get out of the truck and walk! 

If you are interested in walking with K&J at the actual event, contact our office for more details. The actual walk will happen on August 19th; festivities begin at 8:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m.
